I'm
currently making some software that's going to be bad ass! At frist, I
was thinking about working with my friend Joe and his programmer on
this software, however, I have to face an unfortunate fact - money has
corrupted my friend... I thought to myself "Hmmmmm ... maybe ill tell
my friend Joe about this software so he can just go off behind my back
and get his programmer to develop it ... (speaking from experience).
Last year, I laid out detail blue prints for some software that was
based off months of my research... I shared this research with my
friend Joe. He took it upon himself to take my software plans and get
some programmer to design it for him behind my back....
He screwed up in many ways ... one of the most apparent was the fact that he left the single most
important feature out in his description (the ability to create sub-domains on
the fly).
After long talks with Joe, I ended up forgiving him for the
''misunderstanding'' and even went as far as helping him fix the description of
'his' software...
*** a hop skip and jump later, Joe ended up with this
program that he now calls "his software" ... Somehow, some way, Joe truly believes
that the software he is currently using to make a fortune is the result of his
efforts and the efforts of his programmers ... and has nothing to do with
me.
LOL, I think it's amazing how people justify things in their
heads'.... I've seen it before with other of my relatives. The money blinds
them.
I recently tried working with Joe again only to find that he's still
totally out for himself. He's just putting out sites for himself while
incorporating my ideas into his operation - such as my templates, my
topics (fences, handbags, etc). When some of his new sites got indexed
and started pulling great money, he emails me suggesting that we do NOT
use his software in our project.
I really do like Joe (and have forgiven
him), however, money has brought out the worse in him ... he's not the same guy
he once was, and this really hurts me.
Another example of how money has corrupted him was apparent that last time I went out with him on his boat....
In the past, I used
to let Joe drive my boat (he even wrecked it once), my car, my dirtbikes, and
whatever other toy I had... The other day, we went out on his
little jet boat ... we were on a huge lake and I asked him if I could drive
his boat ... he said "no." Then he tried to justify his answer by comparing me
to some of his friends he let drive and nearly wrecked it.
I've
let Joe use / drive anything I've ever had... On top of that, I've driven boats, jet skies, dirtbikes,
etc my entire life (and Joe obviously knows this). I don't think there was much
danger letting me drive his boat for a few minutes in a 900 acre
lake... especially with him right beside me in the middle of a huge lake.
I wonder if he remembers that I saved him from a life of minimum wage by
teaching him internet marketing... and the reason he has most of his toys that he wont share is because of my willingness to share.
Well, I guess that's the tragedy of money - it so easily corrupts people ... especially
if you've been without it your whole life.
